Conclusion

The future of the world belongs to today’s children. A better future starts with nurturing children.

Today’s children are very smart, but they are not serious or attentive enough. To practice calligraphy, you must devote yourself wholeheartedly, be calm, maintain a correct posture, and persevere. Over time, you can develop a good habit of being rigorous and conscientious. Children who are inattentive to details and careless can develop tenacity and perseverance, concentration, patience, meticulousness, and resilience through the practice of calligraphy stroke by stroke. This is a strong ability for coordination and self-control and is an important basic skill for learning other subjects and developing other skills.

Calligraphy is conducive to deepening one’s cultural practices. Classics in Chinese calligraphy are all examples with beautiful diction and profound meanings. Wang Xizhi’s Lanting Xu (Preface of Orchid Pavilion) is an eternally beautiful article that contains a wealth of knowledge. Su Dongpo’s Han Shi Tie (Poem of eating in the cold in Huangzhou) is vigorous and melancholy, full of reflections on life experiences. Learning calligraphy not only inspire creativity and increases aesthetic capacity, but also prompts one to learn the historical background and cultural essence through writing. It is a sure route to learning traditional Chinese culture and nurturing one’s ethics.

Encourage children to learn calligraphy, learn calligraphy with children, and let calligraphy grow with them, nourish their souls, and infiltrate their hearts. This is our most precious gift to the next generation.
